Radiation Therapist FutureSoft Consulting Inc Greenbrae, CA Job Details Contract 7 hours ago Qualifications BLS Certification ARRT (T) Certification Radiation oncology Hospital radiation policies Radiation protection measures Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Greenbrae, California. This position is ideal for a radiation therapy professional with at least 3 years of recent Radiation Oncology experience who is comfortable delivering prescribed radiation treatments in a hospital or cancer-care setting. The Radiation Therapist will work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, oncology nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary cancer-care team to ensure accurate, safe, and compassionate treatment delivery. Candidates must hold current ARRT certification , an active California Radiation Therapist license , and current
BLS/BCLS
certification . Key Responsibilities Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions and approved treatment plans. Accurately position patients for each treatment session. Operate radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively. Verify patient identity, treatment site, treatment parameters, and prescribed dose before treatment. Follow established radiation-safety procedures and treatment protocols. Maintain reproducible patient positioning using appropriate immobilization devices. Monitor patients throughout treatment and report changes in condition promptly. Assist with simulation and treatment-planning activities as assigned. Review treatment documentation for accuracy before therapy is delivered. Maintain accurate and timely treatment records using Epic . Educate patients regarding procedures, treatment expectations, and possible side effects. Provide compassionate support to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other clinical staff. Participate in quality-assurance and radiation-safety activities. Identify equipment or treatment concerns and escalate them appropriately. Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications Candidates must have:
Minimum 3 years of Radiation Oncology / Radiation Therapist experience Current ARRT certification Active California Radiation Therapist license Current
BLS / BCLS
certification Strong knowledge of radiation therapy treatment techniques Strong understanding of radiation safety Ability to accurately follow treatment plans and physician prescriptions Strong patient-positioning and treatment-delivery skills Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Strong candidates may also have: Previous travel or contract Radiation Therapist experience Hospital-based radiation oncology experience Experience with high-volume treatment centers Epic documentation experience Experience with CT simulation Experience with advanced radiation therapy techniques Experience working with modern linear accelerator systems Familiarity with oncology treatment-management systems Key Clinical Skills Successful candidates should be comfortable with: Radiation therapy delivery Patient positioning Treatment setup Linear accelerator operation Radiation safety Treatment-plan verification Immobilization techniques Oncology patient care Treatment documentation Patient education Quality assurance Epic EMR Multidisciplinary oncology collaboration Schedule Requirements Day Shift Monday through Friday Five 8-hour shifts per week Start time typically between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM 40 hours per week No routine weekend schedule indicated Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced Radiation Therapist who is clinically precise, patient-focused, and comfortable working independently within a multidisciplinary oncology environment.
