$150,000-$215,000 + Benefits) (Pay is Negotiable) Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering precise radiation treatments to patients undergoing cancer therapy and other medical conditions requiring radiation intervention. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in radiation oncology, medical imaging, and patient care, ensuring the safe and effective administration of radiation therapy. Duties Prepare and position patients accurately for external beam radiation therapy, including advanced techniques such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Operate sophisticated medical equipment such as linear accelerators, CT simulators, and other radiotherapy devices with strict adherence to radiation safety procedures. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with radiation oncologists, utilizing radiation treatment planning software and CT imaging data. Perform CT simulation procedures to assist in precise targeting of tumors while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissues. Monitor patient responses during treatment sessions, providing support and ensuring comfort throughout procedures. Maintain detailed documentation of treatments within electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Implement radiation safety protocols diligently to protect patients, staff, and oneself from unnecessary exposure. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging, physics, and radiation therapy techniques through ongoing education and training. Assist in quality assurance processes for medical equipment operation and calibration to uphold treatment accuracy. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and technologists to optimize patient care. Requirements Certification or licensure as a Radiation Therapist from an accredited program; state licensure may be required depending on jurisdiction. Proven experience operating CT scanners, linear accelerators, and related medical imaging equipment within a radiotherapy setting. Strong knowledge of radiation physics, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to oncology treatments. Familiarity with advanced radiation therapy techniques such as IMRT, IGRT, external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), and CT simulation. Experience with medical software systems used for treatment planning and electronic health record management. Critical care experience or acute care background is highly desirable for managing complex patient needs. Understanding of radiation safety procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety standards. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and maintain meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
