Summary Radiation therapists work under the guidance of radiation oncologists to administer prescribed radiation treatment to cancer patients. Their responsibilities include performing patient treatments, machine warmups, calculations, simulations, and ensuring radiation safety measures. Operating specialized equipment, such as linear accelerators, they deliver precise radiation to specific areas of the body while closely monitoring patients, maintaining records, and providing emotional support. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
