Shift:
5:30 AM to 5
PM Schedule:
36 to 40 hours/week. Truebeam and accelerator experience. SIMS Experience. NJ State License. 1-2 years exp. 40 hours/week. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver precise radiation treatments to patients undergoing cancer therapy and other medical conditions requiring radiation intervention. Your expertise in advanced imaging, treatment planning, and radiation safety will ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care. Responsibilities Prepare and position patients accurately for radiation treatments using advanced medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Operate sophisticated medical equipment including linear accelerators and CT simulators to deliver external beam radiation therapy with precision. Develop and implement individualized radiation treatment plans in collaboration with radiation oncologists, utilizing radiation physics principles and treatment planning software. Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, adjusting techniques as necessary to ensure safety and effectiveness. Maintain comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) to document treatment progress, patient responses, and procedural details accurately. Adhere strictly to radiation safety procedures, implementing protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging, radiation oncology, and related fields such as mammography, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and CT simulation. Skills Proficiency in medical software systems used for treatment planning and EHR management. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to radiation therapy. Experience with critical care environments and acute care procedures is highly desirable. Expertise in operating medical equipment including linear accelerators, CT scanners, and other radiotherapy devices. Familiarity with radiation physics principles, radiation safety procedures, and implementing safety protocols effectively. Ability to perform complex image-guided procedures such as IGRT and CT simulation for accurate targeting of tumors. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncologists, radiologists, nurses, and technicians.
