Key Qualifications:
Current certification and registration as a Radiation Therapist (ARRT) Valid state license to practice as a Radiation Therapist Comprehensive understanding of treatment planning, radiation safety, and patient protocols Proficiency in using radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate treatment records Excellent communication abilities for working with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams Experience providing compassionate care to patients undergoing radiation therapy
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver prescribed radiation treatments accurately and safely to patients as directed by oncologists and medical directors Operate simulation and treatment machines, ensuring proper positioning and immobilization of patients Monitor and assess patients throughout their treatments, addressing concerns and reporting abnormal findings to the healthcare team Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, doses, and patient progress per established guidelines Collaborate closely with dosimetrists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment accuracy and effectiveness Adhere strictly to all radiation safety policies and infection control standards
