    • Req 9569 The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist.
    This position assists in the overall care of the Department of Radiation Oncology. Reports to Clinical Director.
    Qualifications:
    Must be able to pay close attention to detail, as well as be compassionate. Level of knowledge normally acquired by completion of a two-year course in Radiation Technology. Licensure by State of New York required. Must maintain current BLS certification. One (1) or more years experience as a Radiation Therapist.
    Working Conditions:
    Works in a clinical setting where there is exposure to computer terminals, electrical high voltages and high noise levels. Stands, walks, lifts and positions patients 50% of work day. Exposure to radiation, toxic metal fumes, communicable diseases, infectious materials and blood and body fluids. Requires vision and hearing correctable to normal ranges, had-eye coordination, manual and finger dexterity, as well as effective communication skills to deal with a diverse group of individuals. Must be able to pay close attention to detail, as well as be compassionate.
