Job Summary The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role includes preparing patients, operating radiographic equipment, ensuring radiation safety protocols, and maintaining accurate patient records. The Radiologic Technologist collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic images in an acute care hospital setting. The Flexible Solutions program provides a temporary opportunity for the employee to work a minimum of 36 hours (typically 3-12-hour shifts) per week for a 12-week commitment period at a Flexible Solutions Program rate of pay. The employee may be required to float between units on assigned shifts. Floating and patient care assignments are always based on the employee's skill set and experience. Rates and details may vary by facility. Essential Functions Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Verify patient identification and clinical history prior to imaging procedures. Operate radiographic equipment to capture diagnostic images as per established protocols. Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging procedures, patient history, and diagnostic outcomes. Implement radiation safety measures to minimize patient and staff exposure. Assist in the administration of contrast media as directed by a radiologist. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to appropriate personnel. Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with radiologists to assess imaging quality and adjust techniques as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control guidelines. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress, emergency situations. Proficiency in using radiographic imaging equipment and electronic medical record systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentation. Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and maintaining ARRT certification.
