Southwest Cancer Care is a leading healthcare facility in Sierra Vista, Arizona dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate cancer care to the community. Southwest Cancer Care is an independent, physician-owned practice. We currently provide Medical Oncology, Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, Diagnostic Imaging and Infusion Services to the communities of Cochise County and surrounding areas. We are adding to our diagnostic imaging team. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our team to conduct PET CT scans. This is a exciting opportunity to make a huge impact on the local community and utilize the last technology. We will also be further expanding our services to provide theranostics. Responsibilities:

• Conduct PET scans in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including positioning, shielding, and administering radiopharmaceuticals.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures and ensure proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
• Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations.
• Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, including scanners, cameras, and injectors.
• Review and interpret imaging results to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Develop and implement procedures for the safe and efficient use of radioactive materials.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance initiatives to ensure the accuracy and reliability of imaging results.
• Provide excellent patient care, including communication and education on the imaging process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
• Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (RNMT).
• Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, including physiology and anatomy.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to interpret diagnostic imaging results.
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and identify potential medical issues.
• Experience with PET scans and other nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Pay:

From $48.00 per hour
