JOB DESCRIPTION
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. San Luis Obispo offers the excitement of a lively community while being a fifteen-minute drive from the serenity of Avila Beach, known for their natural hot springs, and Pismo Beach, known for their sand dunes and eucalyptus trees. Job Summary:
Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.

Required in CA American Registry of Radiologic Technologists â€" Radiography (ARRT-R): Required American Registry of Radiologic Technologists â€" Mammography (ARRT-M): Required in OR, Preferred in CA and HI Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA Venipuncture certification: Preferred in
CA Facility Specific License/Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT):
Required Essential Functions:
Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient. Follows infection control and safety guidelines. Performs diagnostic or screening mammogram as ordered. Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produces high quality films for the radiologist to evaluate and completes appropriate documentation. Obtains pertinent patient information and disseminates subsequent patient preparation instructions to patient care areas. Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
