In this role, you will perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Responsibilities Operate a variety of radiologic imaging equipment including ultrasound, MRI, CT scanners, X-ray machines, and mammography units to produce clear diagnostic images. Properly position patients to optimize image quality while ensuring their comfort and safety through precise positioning techniques. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff. Manage electronic health records (EHR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) to accurately document procedures and store images securely. Collaborate with radiologists and physicians during interventional radiology procedures, fluoroscopy, or specialized imaging such as PET scans or nuclear medicine studies. Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the imaging process. Keep up-to-date with advancements in medical imaging technology and maintain certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) to respond effectively in emergencies. Qualifications Proven experience operating radiologic imaging equipment including ultrasound (sonography), MRI, CT, X-ray, and mammography systems. Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic radiology. Ability to perform accurate patient positioning for various imaging modalities including fluoroscopy and interventional procedures. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or EMR platforms for documentation and image management. Certification or licensure in radiologic technology as required by state or national regulations; additional certifications in mammography or nuclear medicine are a plus. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations. Knowledge of medical imaging protocols, aseptic techniques, and radiation safety standards to ensure optimal image quality while minimizing exposure risks. Hospital experience preferred; familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) is highly desirable.
