Responsibilities Operate radiologic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, mammography units, DEXA scanners, PET scans, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine devices with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort while maintaining aseptic technique. Implement radiation safety procedures consistently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging activities. Assist healthcare providers in diagnostic evaluations by capturing high-quality images necessary for accurate interpretation and treatment planning. Support patient care activities including vital signs measurement, medical history documentation, and assisting with procedures in urgent care or emergency room settings. Maintain detailed records of imaging procedures, equipment maintenance logs, and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate diagnostic radiology services for patients requiring interventional radiology or specialized imaging like PET scans or mammography. Experience Prior experience working in urgent care centers or emergency rooms is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in operating diagnostic radiology equipment such as X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, and nuclear medicine devices. Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols effectively. Hands-on experience with interventional radiography and interventional radiology procedures is a strong plus. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and diagnostic evaluation techniques essential for accurate image acquisition and interpretation. Experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous; familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is desirable. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices in clinical settings is required.
