experience preferred PACS experience Ability to work independently First-time travelers accepted Job Description We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Napa, California. The technologist will perform a wide range of MRI examinations, including neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal, MRCP, and breast studies. The facility utilizes GE 1.5T Signa and GE 1.5T Optima MRI systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with both adult and geriatric patients and performing MRI procedures independently. Duties and Responsibilities Perform MRI examinations of the brain, head and neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and musculoskeletal system Perform neuro, MSK, abdominal, MRCP, and breast MRI examinations Perform MRI image post-processing, including MIP and multiplanar reconstruction Prepare and administer contrast media as required Start peripheral IVs when needed Operate GE MRI equipment and utilize PACS Follow MRI safety and infection-control protocols Properly position and prepare patients for examinations Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records Provide safe, high-quality patient care Work independently in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment Working Conditions The MRI Technologist works in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment, performing MRI examinations on adult and geriatric patients in acute-care, outpatient, and ER/trauma settings. The position requires prolonged standing and walking, frequent patient positioning and transfers, and the ability to assist patients with varying mobility levels. The technologist must strictly follow MRI safety protocols, including screening patients and staff for MRI contraindications, maintaining a controlled MRI environment, and following appropriate PPE and infection-control procedures. The role also involves preparing and administering contrast media and starting peripheral IVs when required. The technologist must be comfortable working independently and performing a variety of MRI examinations, including neuro, musculoskeletal, abdomen, MRCP, and breast studies. Experience with GE MRI equipment is preferred. The facility uses GE 1.5T Signa and GE 1.5T Optima systems. The position is primarily day shift, 4×10 hours , with start times of either 7:00 AM or 8:30 AM . Weekend call is required on a rotating basis, approximately every 4th-5th Sunday, from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM . No regular weekend shifts are required. Additional Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience required California Radiologic Technologist certification required ARRT(R), ARRT(MR), and BLS required California IV certification preferred prior to start All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront Maximum of one Providence facility submission at a time Two professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years SSN and DOB required for compliance Local candidates within 50 miles may be accepted at a lower bill rate Candidate must disclose any previous Providence employment, travel, registry, or per-diem experience First-time travelers accepted Modules are non-billable and must be completed before/during orientation
