Mammography Technologist - PRN/ Per Diem Palo Alto, CA | 1-2 Days per Month | Flexible Schedule About the Position We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our boutique breast imaging practice in Palo Alto on a PRN/per-diem basis . This is a unique opportunity for a technologist who enjoys providing high-quality imaging and truly personalized patient care without the pressure and pace of a high-volume imaging center. The position is exceptionally flexible—approximately 1-2 days per month , with scheduling designed to accommodate your existing work and personal commitments. Whether you are looking for a few additional hours, are semi-retired, or simply enjoy staying active in mammography, we would love to hear from you. What You'll Do Perform screening and diagnostic digital mammography with an emphasis on exceptional image quality and patient comfort. Take the time necessary to carefully position each patient and obtain optimal diagnostic images , rather than working under high-volume time pressures. Provide a calm, compassionate, and reassuring experience during what can be an anxiety-provoking and sensitive examination. Explain procedures clearly, answer questions, and help patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. Review images for positioning, quality, and technical adequacy before completing each examination. Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively while following established protocols and quality standards. Maintain appropriate radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and yourself. Maintain accurate patient documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and practice policies. Perform routine equipment checks and promptly communicate any equipment concerns. Collaborate with the physician and other team members to provide a seamless, patient-centered experience. Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and professional imaging environment. Qualifications ARRT certification in Mammography (RT(R)(M)) or equivalent qualifications as required. Current California licensure/registration as applicable. Mammography experience with a strong commitment to image quality. Excellent positioning and technical skills. Strong understanding of mammography protocols and radiation safety. Exceptional attention to detail. Warm, compassionate, and professional approach to patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while functioning as an integral part of a small, collaborative team. Why This Position Is Different This is mammography with time to care.
