Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort while maintaining strict aseptic techniques when required. Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure during all imaging procedures. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to perform diagnostic radiology assessments for urgent care, emergency room cases, trauma centers (including Level I and Level II trauma experience), and outpatient diagnostics. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed, including patient information, technical details, and safety protocols followed. Assist with specialized procedures such as interventional radiography, fluoroscopy-guided interventions, nuclear medicine studies (including PET scans), and physiology-based imaging assessments. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to radiation safety and patient care. Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified X-Ray Technologist (CRT) from an accredited program. Proven experience operating a wide range of radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray machines, CT scanners, mammography units, DEXA scans, fluoroscopy systems, nuclear medicine devices (such as PET scan equipment), and interventional radiology tools. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience working in urgent care settings or emergency rooms is highly desirable; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is a plus. Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols during all procedures. Ability to perform diagnostic imaging with precision while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients of diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of aseptic techniques necessary for interventional radiology procedures or invasive imaging studies is preferred.
