POSITION PURPOSE

To provide diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities, ensuring accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care. Prioritizes patient education, explaining procedures, equipment, and exams clearly to ensure patient understanding and cooperation. Experience Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing CT Technologist within the last 3 years

• Preferred Cross-trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to: MRI, DEXA and Mammography.
• Preferred Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.

Active Driver's License and Reliable Car Must have a California current and active professional license Contractual and renewable Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable). ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT)

BLS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities :

• Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Positions patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
• Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.
• Assists radiologist with routine and interventional CT procedures.
• Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images in sequence of exposure, and labels appropriately.
• Films/transmits to Image Archival System.
• Dispenses and/or orders oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
• Demonstrates proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration and safe IV contrast administration.
• Demonstrates proficiency and advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including, but not limited to X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and OR work.
• Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
• Ability to operate equipment consistently with the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
• Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging procedures and supplies.
• May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.
• Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking calls, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
• Obtains additional training or certification as required.
• Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
• Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
• Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
