The technologist operates CT equipment, prepares and positions patients, administers contrast when required, follows radiation safety protocols, and works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals. Duties and Responsibilities The CT Technologist is expected to perform safe and accurate CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols. Specific duties may include but are not limited to: Perform CT examinations of the abdomen, pelvis, chest, head/neck, spine, and musculoskeletal system. Perform CT angiography (CTA), including vascular chest and coronary angiography studies. Perform CT examinations with and without contrast as required. Perform 3D rendering, multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), and region-of-interest (ROI) measurements. Perform brain perfusion studies. Perform carotid, head, sinus, soft tissue neck, and trauma head imaging. Perform cervical, lumbar, thoracic, and musculoskeletal trauma studies. Prepare and administer contrast media according to established protocols. Start peripheral IVs as required. Properly position patients and provide appropriate instructions throughout examinations. Support emergency and acute-care imaging needs. Perform imaging for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Operate Siemens CT equipment. Utilize Epic for patient charting and documentation. Follow radiation safety procedures and maintain appropriate radiation protection measures. Follow infection-control and PPE protocols. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Recognize and report equipment issues or abnormalities to the appropriate personnel. Follow all department, hospital, and client facility policies and procedures. Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Working Conditions The CT Technologist works in a fast-paced hospital environment providing diagnostic imaging services to patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The position is based at a Magnet and Teaching Hospital and requires hospital-based CT experience. The technologist may support acute-care, emergency, ICU, outpatient, and trauma imaging needs. The role requires adherence to established radiation safety protocols and may involve exposure to ionizing radiation, infectious or communicable diseases, blood and bodily fluids, and other healthcare-related environmental conditions. The CT Technologist must be able to work effectively in a high-volume environment, safely position and transfer patients, operate advanced CT equipment, maintain attention to detail, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Additional Requirements 37.5 hours/week. Current schedule is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 9:00 AM-10:00 PM . No block scheduling. No specific on-call requirement listed. Local candidates are not accepted ; candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local. One reference is required at submission. RTO must be provided at the time of submission. Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved for auto offers. Any vacation plans between signing and the start date must be disclosed at submission. Connecticut CT license is required. CT license processing takes approximately 15-21 business days ; candidates should apply prior to submission. Return staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler.

vaccination is not required. Flu vaccination is required with no exemptions. Modules are non-billable and completed before start and annually. Allied modules are approximately 1 hour.
