Serving the community for over 25 years, our multidisciplinary team specializes in a wide range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal treatments, including urgent care, sports medicine, spine care, and joint replacement. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures with precision and care, utilizing a variety of radiologic imaging equipment. Your expertise will support accurate diagnoses and effective patient treatment plans across diverse clinical settings, including emergency rooms, urgent care, and specialized radiology services. This position floats between our offices in Southington, Wallingford, Meriden, and Cheshire. Radiology Technician Job Duties Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays according to established imaging protocols Obtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physician, physician assistant Protect patients and staff by practicing radiation safety and use of ALARA standards Work closely with the physician and physician assistant to receive guidance and instruction for treating patients Possible use of CR x-ray equipment Operation of C-Arm for procedures as required Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and immediately report any issues to supervisor Maintain x-ray room, stock necessary radiological supplies Trains new employees as needed, as well as training students as they rotate through the facility Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging principles. Strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively. Experience in outpatient orthopaedic center is highly desirable. Ability to perform diagnostic radiology procedures accurately under time-sensitive conditions. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients of all ages. Knowledge of interventional radiology techniques and the ability to assist during minimally invasive procedures. Familiarity with medical equipment operation and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality during imaging sessions.
