The ChristianaCare Springside location is currently recruiting for a Full-Time MRI Technologist I.

Shift:

7:30a - 4p and other hours as needed. Weekends as required.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners. Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols. Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and research implanted devices prior to scanning. Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times. Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities. Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent. Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient. Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.

Requirements:

MR Technologist—experience required. ARRT Registered Technologist required. ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire. Excellent customer service/telephone skills required. Flexibility in hours is required. Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed. Ability to work independently.

Education Requirements:

Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program). Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire). State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required. Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy. An Associate's degree is required; candidates are required to attain anAssociates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS)

Special Requirements:

State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required. The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam. Completion of IV training course.
