Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) / Medical Assistant Nova Medica LLC - Jacksonville, Florida Full-Time | Urgent Care / Outpatient Medical Office Job Overview Nova Medica LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) / Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a cross-trained clinical position combining diagnostic radiology responsibilities with Medical Assistant duties in a fast-paced urgent care and outpatient setting. Applicants MUST hold all current and active Florida certifications, licenses, and credentials required to legally perform radiologic/X-ray services in the State of Florida. All required credentials must be current and in good standing. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between radiology and general clinical responsibilities and understands that teamwork and flexibility are essential in an urgent care environment. Radiology Responsibilities Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered by healthcare providers Properly position patients and select appropriate imaging techniques Produce high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure Follow all applicable radiation safety and ALARA standards Verify provider orders and patient information prior to imaging Maintain accurate imaging documentation and patient records Ensure proper operation, cleanliness, and readiness of radiology equipment Perform required quality-control procedures and maintain appropriate documentation Follow all federal, state, and facility requirements related to radiologic services Maintain appropriate radiation safety procedures for patients, staff, and visitors Identify equipment or safety concerns and report them promptly Coordinate imaging workflow with providers and other clinical staff Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance at all times Medical Assistant Responsibilities When not actively performing radiology services, this position will be expected to assist with general Medical Assistant responsibilities, including: Rooming patients and assisting with patient intake Obtaining and documenting vital signs Reviewing and documenting medical history, medications, allergies, and reason for visit Performing EKGs Performing phlebotomy and specimen collection, based on training and competency Assisting with point-of-care laboratory testing Preparing examination and procedure rooms Assisting providers with examinations and minor procedures Administering medications or injections when permitted by training, office policy, and applicable regulations Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining clinical areas Accurately documenting patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Assisting with patient flow and other clinical responsibilities as needed Cross-Training & Patient Service Team members may also be cross-trained to assist with basic front-office and Patient Service Representative responsibilities when needed, including: Patient check-in and check-out Scheduling appointments Answering and routing telephone calls Verifying patient demographics and insurance information Assisting with insurance eligibility verification Collecting copays and patient balances when applicable Scanning and uploading documents into patient records Maintaining professional and compassionate communication with patients

REQUIRED

Qualifications Current and active State of Florida certification/licensure required to perform radiologic technology/X-ray services All Florida-required radiology credentials must be current, active, and in good standing Must remain compliant with all applicable Florida continuing education and renewal requirements Appropriate education and training in radiologic technology Knowledge of radiation safety, patient positioning, imaging techniques, and quality-control procedures Ability to safely and independently perform diagnostic X-ray examinations within the individual's authorized scope Current BLS/CPR certification preferred Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred Experience with EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing preferred Previous urgent care, emergency department, or outpatient experience is highly desirable Experience with Electronic Medical Record/Electronic Health Record systems eClinicalWorks experience is a plus Strong computer and documentation skills Excellent patient-service and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment Dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented Willing and able to perform both radiology and Medical Assistant responsibilities throughout the workday Preferred Qualifications Previous urgent care experience Medical Assistant certification or substantial MA experience Phlebotomy experience EKG experience Point-of-care laboratory testing experience Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Important Credentialing Requirement Candidates who do not currently possess the required active Florida credentials to perform radiologic/X-ray services will not be considered for the Radiologic Technologist portion of this position.
