Job Description

The Multi-Modality Technologist performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. The position performs imaging examinations, including CT, in multiple settings, contributing to the efficient operation of the department. The position functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Minimum Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Required and Technical Diploma/Certificate Radiology Required or Associates Degree Radiology Required Minimum Work Experience 1-3 years CT experience Required Licenses and Certifications Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required Registered Technologist (ARRT) Board Registry Upon Hire Required BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association within 90 Days Required Registered Technologist - Computed Tomography (RTCT) Board Registry within 18 Months Required What you will do Assists in care and maintenance of diagnostic radiology equipment and supplies. Sets up and adjusts diagnostic radiology equipment per radiologist protocol for exam. Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the
A.L.A.R.A.
(as low as reasonably achievable) standards. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts. Receives and reviews requests for radiologic studies and CT exams. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate. Assists in the administration of various medications under the direction of a physician to render specific organs or systems more opaque. Trains on and performs CT exams. Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students. Performs various clerical duties. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the department to perform examinations.
