Duties Operate a wide range of radiologic imaging equipment including X-ray, Ekgs, tools to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly, positioning them accurately, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination. Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging processes. Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as sonography (ultrasound), PET scans, interventional radiography, and nuclear medicine studies with precision. Collaborate closely with physicians to assist in diagnostic evaluation and ensure high-quality image acquisition for accurate diagnosis. Maintain strict aseptic techniques during invasive procedures and ensure all medical equipment is properly sterilized and functioning optimally. Document all procedures thoroughly in patient records while adhering to confidentiality standards and hospital policies. Stay current with advancements in radiology technology and participate in ongoing training to enhance your skills in emergency medicine settings or Level I trauma centers. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles. Proficiency operating diverse medical imaging equipment including X-ray machines, ekg machines, ultrasound devices. Strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation safety protocols effectively. Experience working in urgent care settings, nursing homes or emergency rooms; Level II trauma center experience is highly desirable. Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication tailored to diverse patient populations. Knowledge of medical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation during high-pressure situations.
