Medical Director / Practice Manager Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, professional, and patient-focused X-Ray Technologist / Front Desk Coordinator to join our urgent care team in Plantation, Florida. This is a dual-role position combining diagnostic X-ray responsibilities with front desk and patient registration duties. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment, and able to transition efficiently between performing X-rays and supporting front office operations based on patient volume and facility needs. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesX-Ray Technologist Responsibilities Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered by authorized medical providers. Properly position patients and select appropriate imaging techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Verify patient identity, imaging orders, and correct body part/site prior to each examination. Follow established radiation safety and exposure-control procedures. Evaluate images for proper positioning and technical quality before submitting them for interpretation. Accurately document and transmit images using applicable digital imaging and PACS systems. Maintain X-ray equipment and radiology areas in a clean, safe, and operational condition. Perform required quality-control procedures and promptly report equipment concerns. Maintain required radiology documentation and assist with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements. Clearly explain imaging procedures and provide professional, compassionate patient care. Front Desk Responsibilities When not performing radiology services, the employee will assist with front desk and administrative operations, including: Greet patients in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Check patients in and out of the urgent care center. Accurately register patients and update demographic and insurance information. Verify insurance information and eligibility as required. Collect copayments, deductibles, self-pay amounts, and other patient balances as directed. Answer incoming telephone calls and route calls appropriately. Schedule appointments and assist patients with general questions. Obtain required patient forms, signatures, identification, and insurance documentation. Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record. Maintain accurate and complete patient records. Communicate patient arrivals and needs to clinical staff. Assist with maintaining an efficient patient flow and minimizing wait times. Provide patients with general instructions and information regarding clinic processes. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Keep the reception and waiting areas organized, clean, and professional. Assist with administrative tasks, filing, scanning, faxing, and other front office duties as assigned. General Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times. Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and administrative personnel. Follow all facility policies and procedures related to patient safety, HIPAA, infection control, OSHA, and radiation safety. Maintain required licenses, certifications, and credentials. Help identify and resolve patient-service or workflow issues promptly. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality-improvement activities. Perform other duties consistent with the employee's training, certification, and authorized scope of practice. Required Qualifications Current and active Florida Department of Health certification as a General Radiographer appropriate for the radiologic duties of the position. Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program. Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire. Knowledge of diagnostic radiography, patient positioning, and radiation safety. Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills. Comfortable performing both X-ray and front desk responsibilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Professional telephone and communication skills. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic medical record and practice-management systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately. Preferred Qualifications ARRT certification/registration in Radiography (R). Previous urgent care, outpatient, orthopedic, or medical office experience. Previous front desk, patient registration, or medical receptionist experience. Experience verifying insurance eligibility and collecting patient payments. Experience using electronic medical record and practice-management systems. Experience with digital radiography and PACS systems. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Schedule Candidates should have flexibility to work based on the operating needs of the urgent care center, which may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Dependability, punctuality, flexibility, and the ability to assist wherever needed are important requirements of this position. Compensation $18.00 per hour Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Sit and perform computer and telephone duties for extended periods. Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and move imaging equipment. Assist patients with positioning as necessary. Safely work in an environment involving potential exposure to infectious illnesses and ionizing radiation while following appropriate safety procedures.
