  • Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.

Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed. Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion. Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • + Knowledge of Mammography and Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions [Required] + Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required] + Ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition [Required] + Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment [Preferred] + Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required] + Ability to make judgments that must be made on a regular basis regarding exam protocols and imaging techniques, based upon patient condition and provisional diagnosis [Required] + Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required] + Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required] + Performance of 2D and 3D mammography exams [Required] •
Education:
  • + High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]

Work Experience:
  • + 1+ year of experience [Required]
  • Licenses and Certifications:
  • + Registered Mammographer RT(M)(ARRT) [Required] + Registered Radiology Technologist RT(R)(ARRT) [Required]
