MRI Technologist - PRN
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This is a technical position requiring training in the field of radiology technology and MRI. The MRI Technologist, under direct supervision, produces detailed tissue images for medical diagnosis by performing a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
The MRI Technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology. Performs MRI imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site Radiologist. Completes and signs Patient Screening form and explains the procedure to the patient Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the coach and during the exam. Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs. Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents according to site-specific protocols. Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures. Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed. Provide images to the facility in the desired site format. Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members. May assist with the set up and tear down of equipment in accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers' guidelines. Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach/facility. Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.e.: time reports, billing, QA, etc. Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures. Complies with all safety policies and regulations. Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
• Other duties (including, but not limited to all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging or CT) needed to provide quality care. Collaborate in quality control of equipment and obtains service as required.
• On call and any shift needed to provide quality care. Required to work in areas other than those assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education:
Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program High School graduate or equivalent
Special Skills and Requirements:
Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a permit to practice where applicable. Must be able to produce very high quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be willing and able to assist the Radiologist in his/her interpretation of exams. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative. Able to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Graduate of an accredited or recognized school of Radiology Technology preferred. American Registry of Radiology Technology or registry eligible preferred. Graduate of an accredited or recognized school of Sonography. High School Diploma or GED required. Current BLS certification required.
