2987669121-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Wellstar is seeking an X-Ray Tech to join our patient-centered imaging team in Georgia. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray exams in hospital and outpatient settings, supporting timely, accurate clinical decisions. Responsibilities include safely positioning patients, operating digital radiography equipment, applying radiation safety practices, and documenting studies in the electronic health record. You'll collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and providers in a collaborative, learning-focused culture with access to advanced technology, ongoing education, and opportunities for growth across our integrated health system. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized diagnostic X-ray exams according to physician orders and protocols Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and provide compassionate, culturally competent care Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain high-quality, diagnostic images Apply radiation safety practices, including proper shielding and ALARA principles Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition Accurately document exams, patient information, and imaging data in the electronic health record Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other clinicians to support care plans Maintain and troubleshoot X-ray equipment, reporting issues promptly Follow infection prevention, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission) Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and performance improvement initiatives Required Skills Diagnostic radiography Patient positioning Radiation safety and ALARAOperation of digital X-ray equipment PACS and RIS/EHR documentation Anatomy and radiographic pathology recognition Infection prevention and control Basic life support (BLS) Contrast safety and screening Regulatory and compliance standards awareness
