Responsibilities The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate. What you will do Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures. Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment. Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed. Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly. Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population. Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies. Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested. Qualifications Education Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required Work Experience No experience required 1 year experience as a Mammography Technologist Preferred Licenses and Certifications (R) ARDMS or ARRT
