Responsibilities Prepare patients for MRI procedures by explaining the process, ensuring patient comfort, and verifying their medical history for contraindications. Operate MRI scanners with precision, adjusting settings to optimize image quality based on physician orders and patient needs. Follow strict equipment safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with patient safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of imaging procedures within Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for easy retrieval and review. Assist with image acquisition for diagnostic evaluation, ensuring high-quality images are captured for radiologists' interpretation. Support patient safety and care by practicing aseptic techniques, monitoring patient well-being throughout procedures, and responding promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive diagnostic radiology services that meet clinical needs. Skills Proficiency in operating MRI scanners. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles to accurately position patients and acquire precise images. Experience with medical equipment operation, including adherence to equipment safety procedures and maintenance protocols. Ability to perform IV insertions and maintain aseptic technique during invasive procedures. Excellent understanding of patient safety regulations and the importance of patient care throughout imaging processes. Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing and retrieving medical images efficiently. Basic life support (BLS) certification is required to respond effectively in emergency situations involving patients. Knowledge of radiology practices, medical imaging techniques, and diagnostic evaluation processes essential for delivering high-quality results.
