80 Date Posted 09/18/2026 Position Summary Under general supervision, performs a variety of pre-procedure preparation, scheduling, ordering, authorizing, and patient care for interventional procedures by radiologists. Staff will ensure all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care. 100% Position Responsibilities Under general supervision, performs a variety of pre-procedure preparation, scheduling, ordering, authorizing, and patient care for interventional procedures by radiologists. Staff will ensure all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care. Unit Specific Position Responsibilities Performs job duties in accordance with departmental orientation, competency requirements, skills validation, and established policies and procedures. Assists in the onboarding, training, and mentoring of department personnel as assigned. Coordinates and schedules interventional radiology procedures and related patient appointments. Collaborates with ancillary departments to facilitate timely and efficient patient care and procedure coordination. Prepares patients across the lifespan (neonatal through geriatric) for radiology procedures, including providing pre-procedure education, reviewing preparation requirements, and arranging post-procedure follow-up care. Verifies that appropriate pre-procedure orders have been obtained and that patients meet all procedural and safety requirements prior to scheduling or treatment. Serves as a resource for patients and families by addressing questions, concerns, and appointment-related needs, ensuring appropriate follow-up and communication. Maintains effective communication with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient care and service excellence. Assists patients, families, and visitors with needs and concerns while utilizing service recovery and communication strategies to enhance the patient experience. Promotes and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff. Maintains accountability for patient safety and adherence to established safety standards throughout the continuum of care. Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and departmental performance initiatives to support positive patient outcomes. Prepares and manages electronic imaging records and documentation to support physician interpretation and procedural workflow, as applicable to role responsibilities. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education): Radiologic Technologist Applicants Completion of a 24-month American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current Iowa Permit to Practice as a Radiologic Technologist. Registered Nurse Applicants Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Authorization by the State of Iowa to practice nursing. Achievement of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within six (6) years of hire, if not already attained.

Organizational Requirements:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements.

None Specified Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Ability to communicate with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to navigate and/or use an Electronic Health Record (EMR) and PACS system Knowledge of basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry, and their applications Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Active Listening skills, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for neonate through geriatric patients. Skill in effective oral and written communication in English.
