Radiology Technologist General or Specialty Tech

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, operates general and portable radiologic equipment in performing radiologic procedures according to established guidelines and protocols. Provides quality diagnostic images for interpretation by a Radiologist. Transports patients to and from radiology and other areas of the hospital as needed. PRN - As Needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Successful completion of an accredited two year radiologic technologist training program.

Licensure/certification:

Active registration with the ARRT in general radiography. Current Iowa license to practice general radiography. Proof of required continuing educational credits.

Previous Work Experience:

Previous radiologic technologist experience preferred.

Skills:

Communicates appropriately and clearly with referring providers, staff and administration. Interprets and follows Radiology Services and hospital policies and procedures. Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities. Promotes effective intradepartmental and interdepartmental relationships. Strong computer skills necessary. Demonstrates organizational and self-motivational skills in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks as well as the ability to utilize effective decision-making and problem solving techniques. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused amid interruptions in a potentially fast paced environment.
