We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our Outpatient Department on a temporary basis at our medical center in Batavia. In this role, you will provide high-quality mammography imaging services, ensuring patient comfort and safety while performing diagnostic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in mammography to contribute to the health and well-being of our community.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM No on-call required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mammography imaging services, including performing various mammography-related procedures. Prepare and position patients accurately for imaging, selecting the appropriate anatomic and technical parameters. Explain the procedure to patients and educate them about the importance of regular mammograms for preventive breast health. Develop and evaluate mammography films for technical quality, including density contrast, definition, and distortion. Ensure all images are of high quality and submitted promptly to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers, patient data, and history. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to minimize exposure and protect patient and staff health. Monitor and maintain mammography equipment to ensure it is functioning properly. Report any equipment malfunctions or potential issues to appropriate personnel. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
Qualifications:
ARRT (Mammography) certification required. Current state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in IL. Previous experience in mammography is strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure high-quality imaging results. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate patients and work effectively within a team. Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, certifications, education, and location. Actual offer will be based on comparison with associates in similar roles.
