Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The technologists are under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Women's Services, Director of Imagining Services, and the clinical direction of the Radiology Medical Director. The technologist will perform mammography, breast ultrasound and bone density procedures, as well as any special procedures (not requiring constant supervision) as outlined in the department policy and procedures manual.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, ARRT (R). Preferred certification in Mammography by ARRT (M) or meets registry eligibility. Certification compliance must be completed in one year. Licensure by the Indiana State Board of Health must be obtained and kept current. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patient/family service. Maintain CPR certification. Continuing education credits must be obtained as required by the ARRT. Mammographers are required to obtain specific mammography education credits as described by theFDA/MQSA.
Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communication abilities are necessary to interact with patients, physicians and other Hospital Associates. Holds certification for breast ultrasound through ARRT.Benefits
