Job Description
Job Summary The CT Technologist utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues. The CT Technologist may also perform duties as a staff technologist in Diagnostic X-Ray or other area as required. Hours 7a-7p Sat and Sunday on CT call rotation, and holiday rotation Job Responsibilities Produce images using CT scanner and assist Radiologist in viewing and reconstructing images. Assess patient needs and determine appropriate interventions. Provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety or patient. Accurately and safely administer contrast material to the patient in preparation for the CT study. Accurately position patients to allow capture of clear and accurate images. Observe and report general physical and mental condition of patients for signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change. Archive daily information into electronic systems and accurately maintain records of all examinations performed. Collect and provide monthly statistics as required and contribute to QA and CQI Follow infection control requirements and assist in cleaning and disinfecting rooms to provide a safe environment for patients and staff. Supervise Students as required. Exercise judgement in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to assure compliance with state, federal, and local requirements. Participate in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence. Other Duties as assigned.
