Job Description Essential Functions

• Verifies orders and patient identity prior to examination, obtains and communicates clinical history.
• Operates computed tomographic equipment and accessories, demonstrating competency in CT techniques and safety procedures.
• Selects and edits scanning protocols to optimize diagnostic value, positions and accommodates patients, and responds to patient distress.
• Evaluates images for technical quality, uses display parameters, and ensures accurate patient identification on all images and CDs.
• Practices radiation protection principles to minimize exposure for patients, self, and others.
• Demonstrates competency in venipuncture, selects veins, and administers contrast media as prescribed.
• Performs diagnostic testing and quality assurance on equipment, reports malfunctions, and coordinates service as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent Experience Requirement 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
