40 Hours perWeek Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to support a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team in a high-volume cardiac catheterization laboratory. This role is responsible for operating fluoroscopy and cardiac diagnostic equipment, assisting physicians during invasive procedures, monitoring patient status, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment.Responsibilities:
- Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and patients for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Operate fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images of coronary and peripheral vascular conditions.
- Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Monitor and document patient hemodynamics and vital signs throughout procedures.
- Ensure accurate procedure documentation, charge capture, and billing information.
- Monitor radiation exposure levels and promote radiation safety for patients and staff.
- Maintain and manage digital imaging records within PACS systems.
- Perform equipment quality control checks and assist with routine maintenance.
- Utilize safe patient positioning and transfer techniques before and after procedures.
- Adhere to all radiation safety regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
- Adapt communication and care delivery to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an allied health professional required.
- Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice.
- Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with computers, healthcare software, and web-based applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to perform complex technical procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Ability to identify equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot issues.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local radiation safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure clinical environments.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call schedules, and varying shifts as needed.
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to radiation, blood, bodily fluids, tissues, and communicable diseases.
- Potential exposure to hazardous medications and healthcare-related waste.
- Ability to perform medium physical work, including lifting, moving, and positioning patients and equipment.
- Fast-paced procedural environment requiring prolonged standing and attention to detail.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologist with Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
- Strong background in fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiovascular procedures.
- Knowledgeable in radiation safety and imaging quality standards.
