Full Job Description X-Ray Technician Employment Type:
Full-Time | Permanent | Direct Hire | On-Site Position Summary A rapidly expanding, innovative healthcare organization in the Greater New Orleans area is seeking a skilled, versatile X-Ray Technician to join its dynamic primary care team. For clinical professionals who are ambitious, patient-focused, and thrive in an engaging, supportive environment, this role offers a diverse and rewarding daily workflow. In this dual-capacity position, you will provide critical diagnostic radiological imaging while assisting with general primary care clinical duties under provider supervision. Because dedicated X-ray volume fluctuates throughout the day, blending imaging expertise with medical assisting ensures active team involvement and comprehensive patient care delivery.

Dual Clinical & Medical Assisting Support:
Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy/blood draws, conduct EKGs, assist with minor procedures, change dressings, and sanitize/stock treatment rooms.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain strict compliance with radiation safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and internal quality assurance standards.
EMR & Administrative Documentation:
Accurately log diagnostic imaging parameters, update electronic medical records (EMR), maintain digital image files, and track referral workflows.
Patient Care Coordination:
Deliver compassionate, high-touch customer service, explaining imaging procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety and collaborating with multidisciplinary providers.
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited program for Radiological Technology or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
Licensure & Credentials:
Current state licensure or certification to practice medical imaging in accordance with Louisiana state regulations (ARRT registration/certification required or eligible). Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
Clinical Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience as an X-Ray Technologist in an outpatient, urgent care, or primary care environment.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and standard healthcare computer applications.
Interpersonal Capabilities:
Strong clinical multitasking ability, warm patient communication skills, and a collaborative team-player mentality. Benefits Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans available on Day 1 of employment. 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching up to 6% (eligible on the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment). Accrued vacation time, dedicated paid sick leave bank, and a floating holiday allotment. Company-paid holiday time off for 7 recognized annual holidays.
