Company Overview GastroIntestinal Specialists, A.M.C. is the largest independent gastroenterology group in the region. Our team of dedicated physicians and mid-level practitioners is committed to delivering personalized care for patients experiencing digestive tract issues. Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical imaging and diagnostic radiology, with expertise in various imaging modalities and emergency care settings. This role involves performing high-quality imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and supporting accurate diagnostic evaluations within a fast-paced clinical environment. Duties Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including CT scans with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining processes, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination. Maintain detailed documentation of imaging procedures and patient information in compliance with medical records regulations. Operate imaging equipment safely while following aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety. Assist in emergency situations by providing urgent care imaging support. Collaborate with physicians to facilitate diagnostic evaluation and interpret preliminary images when necessary. Maintain equipment calibration, perform routine quality control checks, and troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize downtime. Uphold infection control standards and ensure a clean, organized work environment aligned with healthcare regulations. Qualifications Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) with current Louisiana licensure. CT Certification preferred (or currently working toward CT certification) Proven experience in diagnostic radiology, including CT. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Familiarity with ultrasound (sonography) procedures and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous. Strong understanding of aseptic technique and radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of diverse backgrounds. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments requiring urgent care interventions.
