Duties Operate MRI scanners and other diagnostic imaging equipment with precision and care to acquire high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort throughout the scan. Perform additional imaging procedures such as CT scans, DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans, sonography, and vascular access as needed to support comprehensive diagnostic services. Maintain strict adherence to equipment safety procedures and infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and patient safety regulations. Ensure accurate documentation of imaging procedures within Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for easy retrieval and review by radiologists and physicians. Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MRI scanners and related medical equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless diagnostic evaluations while prioritizing patient safety and care. Requirements Proven experience operating MRI scanners with a strong understanding of medical imaging principles and anatomy knowledge. Certification or licensure in radiologic technology or relevant field; additional certifications in CT, sonography, DEXA scans, or vascular access are highly desirable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to handle emergency situations effectively. Proficiency in medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and diagnostic radiology practices essential for accurate image acquisition and interpretation support. Skilled in IV insertion, vascular access techniques, and using medical equipment safely according to established safety procedures. Familiarity with PACS systems for image storage and retrieval; understanding of radiation safety standards is a plus. Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
