Job Description

Category Imaging - IR Tech Job Type Contract Deliver advanced diagnostic imaging care with a specialized focus in Interventional Radiology. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic environment supporting patient evaluations and image-guided procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. Schedule/Hours 8:00 am - 4:30 pm On-call is required One weekend every 6 weeks Monday-Friday evenings every 6 weeks (on-call rotation may vary based on volume and scheduling needs) Qualifications BLS certification is required Active ARRT certification required; Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) preferred Prior experience as an IR Tech or in Imaging-Interventional Radiology is highly desirable Strong communication skills and compassion for patient care Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team Proficiency with PACS/RIS, aseptic technique, and radiation safety practices Key Responsibilities Explain procedure processes to patients and gather relevant medical history information Prepare and administer prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV solutions Assist Radiologists in performing complex, invasive imaging procedures by arranging necessary equipment and supplies Maintain sterile technique, manage physiological monitors and pressure injectors Monitor and assess patient condition throughout procedures, ensuring safety and comfort Select and position appropriate imaging equipment, applying ALARA principles for radiation safety Ensure timely and accurate transfer of images into PACS and proper study documentation in RIS Support training and orientation of new staff and students as needed Maintain inventory, replenish supplies, and adhere to all Quality Assurance and documentation protocols This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skill set within a supportive environment committed to clinical excellence and innovative care.
