Job Description

Job Overview Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team at our Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work on the day shift, Monday through Friday. The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all of the members of the health care team. Responsibilities Maintains patient care Performs examinations Identifies relevant data from images accurately. Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional Participates in creating a culture of patient safety Knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility Verify patient identification and documentation Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol. Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes, and file jacket transfers in a timely fashion Accurate film identification and jacket preparation or digital image manipulation and archiving Participates as an active team member Orients and mentors new employees and students Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs. Modifies clinical interventions based on population served. Provides patient education based on an assessment of learning needs of patient/care-giver Required Qualifications A.R.R.T. (R) Upon Hire A.R.R.T.
