Mercy is seeking a Spec Procedures Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will support specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring safe, high-quality care and accurate imaging and documentation. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff, following established protocols and maintaining equipment and procedure rooms. Responsibilities Perform a full range of special procedures and interventional imaging exams according to physician orders and Mercy protocols. Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, contrast media, and supplies, ensuring readiness and adherence to infection prevention and radiation safety standards. Position patients accurately and safely, explaining procedures and providing compassionate support throughout the exam. Operate specialized imaging and fluoroscopy equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic and interventional images while minimizing radiation exposure. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other care team members before, during, and after procedures to optimize patient outcomes. Monitor patient condition and vital signs during procedures, responding promptly to changes and escalating concerns as appropriate. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record, including procedure details, supplies used, and patient responses. Adhere to all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and Mercy policies related to patient safety, privacy, and quality of care. Participate in on-call or shift rotations as needed to support 24/7 coverage for urgent and emergent procedures. Support continuous improvement by assisting with staff training, workflow optimization, and adoption of new technologies or clinical best practices.
