Job Description

SSM Health is seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Lead to guide high-quality MRI services in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. This on-site leader will perform complex MRI exams, coordinate daily workflow, and support technologists to ensure timely, accurate imaging. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring staff, optimizing patient safety and comfort, and maintaining MRI equipment in collaboration with vendors. The Lead partners closely with physicians and nurses, upholds regulatory and safety standards, and contributes to continuous quality improvement within SSM Health's mission-driven, supportive culture. Responsibilities Perform and lead MRI imaging procedures according to physician orders and safety standards Oversee daily MRI department workflow and coordinate staff schedules Train, mentor, and support MRI technologists and new team members Ensure patient safety, screening, and comfort throughout imaging procedures Maintain MRI equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, and coordinate service Verify image quality and proper documentation in the electronic health record Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize diagnostics Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and radiation safety standards Required Skills MRI imaging protocols and techniques Operation of MRI scanners and coils Radiation and MRI safety procedures Patient positioning and assessment Electronic health record documentation PACS and imaging informatics Leadership and staff supervision Workflow coordination and scheduling Quality assurance and image review Infection control and patient safety compliance
