Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging exams of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review requisitions, check and prepare equipment and supplies. Identify and screen patients for possible allergies to contrast materials and metal in body. Explain procedure to patient, position patient on table and use appropriate coil for exam. Schedule and/or Reschedule patients as needed. Review/evaluate completed images for quality, completeness and type of test ordered, provide histories to radiologist for complete diagnosis. Monitor patient's condition during and after exam to ensure patients safety. Record/label images in sequence and with patient identification and other information required by the Radiologist to make an accurate diagnosis. Enter exams in the Radiology Information System and PACS. Comply with established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality. Attend in-service and other meetings as required. Perform duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed. Send images to cloud system. Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program. ARRT registry in Radiology required and ARRT registry in MRI is preferred. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic. Current AHA or Red Cross BLS is required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day. Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard. Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines. Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing. Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs. Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
