JOB SUMMARY

The Clinic & Multi-Skilled Technician at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for providing basic laboratory, radiology, and/or nursing procedures as directed and within scope of practice, assisting physicians and nurse practitioners, and ensuring the proper use and maintenance of laboratory/radiological equipment. Additionally, this role involves accurate recordkeeping and documentation, patient and family education, adherence to regulatory guidelines, and participation in performance improvement activities.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Patient Care:

Performs basic laboratory, radiology, and/or nursing procedures as directed and within scope of practice. Assist Physician/Nurse Practitioner as directed.

Equipment maintenance:

Responsible for proper use and maintenance of laboratory/radiological equipment.

Recordkeeping/Documentation:

Accurately and efficiently reports/documents patient care/status/information in medical record.

Customer Service:

Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge. Responsible for maintaining supplies necessary for quality patient care.

Education:

Participate in performance improvement activities (EXCEL).

Regulatory:

Adheres to NMHS/NMMC and Departmental Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. Complies with applicable State/Federal regulations/laws/policies/procedures/guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or equivalent. Required Licenses and Certifications . Certified or Licensed as LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), MLT (Medical Laboratory Tech), Registered Nurse or Radiological Tech , RT (Respiratory Therapy) with completion of program and appropriate education. . Required And . Must maintain CPR Certification (American Heart Association-AHA);. . Required Work Experience . Minimum of 1-year medical office or healthcare experience with laboratory/radiology training;. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Good written and verbal communication skills; required. Excellent organizational skills; required. Working knowledge of basic computers and computer software; required. Must demonstrate professionalism and personal integrity. Must organize and prioritize work flow. Must be consciences, flexible, and open to change. Assures compliance with regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines. Works Independently as well as team/group setting.

Must have extensive contact with:

Patients, physicians, clinic personnel, family members and others. Must display a professional demeanor at all times. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must reflect a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve. Must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
