Job Description

Radiologic Technologist Status:
Per Diem - Non-Exempt Reports to: Laboratory and Radiology Manager __________________________________________________________________________________________ A. Purpose and Scope of Position This position is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to obtain ordered radiographs consistent with department routines and procedures. In doing so, positions patients, adjusts equipment for proper exposure settings, completes the exam in the electronic medical record and verifies the images in the PACs system. The technologist is responsible for the safe operation of a variety of equipment to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Interviews patients, explains procedures, and assists in positioning the patient for procedures. Reviews test results with radiologists/referring physicians. __________________________________________________________________________________________ B. Job Requirements 1. Required Qualifications Graduate of a recognized approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in Radiological Technology. Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) OR board eligible (must achieve ARRT credential within six months of employment) Current Montana license as a Radiology Technologist/Regional RT must possess additional current state license as appropriate to service site. CPR Certification for health care providers 2. Preferred Qualifications At lease one year of clinical experience as a radiologic technologist Basic life support (BLS) certification 3. Managerial Experience N/A 4. Special Requirements Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance. Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations. Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise. Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules. Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority. •This position does not offer H-IB Visa Sponsorship
