Back Mammography Tech

• Travel Lenoir , NC Contract Sep 28, 2026 Quality Staffing Specialist are currently seeking skilled Mammography Technologists. Performs a variety of routine mammography related diagnostic and screening procedures in the field of radiologic and breast imaging. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Performs patient assessments and provides patient care including instruction in self-breast examination.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must have 1 year of recent Mammography Tech experience Experience with screening and diagnostic mammography Strong knowledge of 3D mammography/tomosynthesis Knowledge of MQSA quality standards Hospital or dedicated breast-imaging center experience preferred Experience with Epic/PACS helpful
Job Responsibilities:
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms, including 2D and 3D/tomosynthesis imaging as ordered. Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality breast images while minimizing discomfort. Review patient history, prior breast imaging, symptoms, and relevant clinical information before exams. Evaluate images for proper positioning, exposure, contrast, motion, and overall diagnostic quality before submitting studies for interpretation. Assist radiologists with additional diagnostic views and follow-up imaging when abnormalities are identified. Prepare patients for procedures and explain exams in a clear, reassuring manner. Maintain strict compliance with MQSA, ACR, FDA, radiation-safety, infection-control, and facility protocols. Document examinations accurately in the EMR and imaging systems. Maintain mammography equipment, perform required quality-control checks, and report equipment issues. Coordinate with radiologists, nurses, breast-imaging staff, referring providers, and scheduling teams. Maintain patient privacy and provide compassionate care, particularly for patients undergoing diagnostic workups. Depending on the department, may assist with or support breast ultrasound, stereotactic procedures, biopsies, specimen imaging, or localization procedures.
Location:
Lenoir, NC Rate:
$2,360/weekly (travel rate, must reside >75 miles from facility) $2,120/weekly (locate rate, if you reside 50 miles from permanent residence to facility)
