Job Description

Asheville Ortho - Mission Main, part of Mission Health's physician network, seeks a Radiology Technician to support our orthopedic and musculoskeletal practice in Asheville, NC. In this role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging exams, ensuring high-quality images, accurate positioning, and strict adherence to radiation safety and infection control standards. You will collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, and rehabilitation teams, support efficient clinic flow, and contribute to a physician-led, patient-centered culture focused on clinical excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic radiologic exams for orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients Position patients and operate imaging equipment following safety protocols Verify orders, patient identity, and exam requirements in EMR/RISEnsure image quality and proper anatomical coverage for physician review Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment and exam rooms Follow radiation safety and infection control standards Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, APPs, and rehab teams Document procedures and upload images accurately and promptly Educate patients about procedures and provide compassionate support Participate in quality improvement and workflow optimization initiatives Required Skills Diagnostic radiography Patient positioning Radiation safety PACS/Image management Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Orthopedic imaging protocols Radiologic equipment operation Infection control procedures Quality assurance in imaging Basic patient care and communication
