Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Temporary Limited Medical Radiographer to provide expert diagnostic imaging services and high-quality patient care. This role involves performing a variety of radiographic procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a high level of service to patients, healthcare providers, and customers in and outside the radiology department.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures using appropriate imaging equipment. Prepare, instruct, position, and safely care for patients throughout examinations. Operate portable and stationary X-ray equipment and obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Perform specialized examinations and assist with surgical, fluoroscopic, and other radiology procedures as required. Assess patients' ability to safely participate in examinations and modify techniques when necessary. Assist with contrast procedures, including starting IVs and administering or assisting with contrast media. Provide appropriate care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Follow radiation safety, sterile technique, infection-control, and patient-safety standards. Maintain clean and orderly examination rooms, equipment, supplies, and work areas. Complete required documentation, scheduling, filing, and other clerical duties accurately. Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and continuous quality improvement activities. Support compliance with applicable ACR, FDA, Nebraska Department of Health, and other regulatory standards. Assist with training students and ancillary personnel. Provide after-hours/on-call radiology coverage according to the assigned schedule. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of 12 months of an approved Radiology Technology program . Licensed by the State of Nebraska as a Temporary Medical Radiographer . One year of previous experience under the supervision of a Board-Certified Radiologist . Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to complete BLS training upon hiring.

Skills & Abilities:

Expertise in operating radiologic equipment and performing diagnostic imaging procedures. Strong patient care skills, with the ability to work with diverse patient populations. Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control practices. Ability to assess and manage patient needs, including modifying procedures when necessary. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and quality care. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a healthcare team. Why BCHC?
