This is a Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm position for a multispecialty Orthopedic practice A typical day for an X-Ray Technician may include: Performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures while following established protocols to support accurate and timely diagnoses Preparing patients for imaging exams by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process Positioning patients accurately and operating radiologic equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure Applying radiation safety principles and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards to protect patients, colleagues, and yourself Reviewing images for quality and completeness, identifying the need for additional views when appropriate, and communicating with radiologists and providers Accurately documenting imaging procedures, patient information, and exam details within the electronic medical record and imaging systems Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure efficient workflow Maintaining imaging equipment, monitoring supplies, and reporting equipment concerns to support uninterrupted patient care Pursuing continued professional development through continuing education, advanced imaging opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career growth This role might be for you if: Clear, compassionate communication defines how you interact with patients, families, and colleagues Attention to detail and technical precision guide your work every day You remain calm and adaptable while managing a fast-paced clinical environment Patient safety and delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging are your top priorities You enjoy working collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary care teams Continuous learning and professional growth motivate you Creating a positive, reassuring patient experience is central to your approach To be considered for this X-Ray Technician opportunity, you must: Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician's office 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology Hold a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification Hold an active New Jersey Radiologic Technologist license (NJDEP) Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider through American Heart Association Epic knowledge is a plus Working with Carestream XR machine and Horizon Health Care PACS is a plus Experience with non-weightbearing patients/stretcher patients is a plus Knowledge of leg length series is a plus At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
