Carson City X Ray Part Time Day Shift Summary Performs radiologic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries and to evaluate the technical quality of radiographs. Provides procedural-related patient care and education. Maintains records and documentation for procedures.Qualifications Required:
Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography. State of Nevada license in Radiography. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Essential Functions Interprets patient's histories and physician instructions Assesses patient's condition prior to administering a contrast media or performing the radiographic procedure. Explains and prepares patients for roentgenographic and/or fluoroscopic examination. Determines proper technique and selects exposure factors, exposes and develops film. Practices radiation protection procedures according to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) for patients, self, and others. Practices medical and surgical aseptic techniques. Perform diagnostic radiograph procedures through the application of ionizing radiation to produce images on film. Administers oral contrast media and performs successful injection of contrast media. Assist radiologist during fluoroscopy exams. Documents patient assessment/history related to procedures. Performs and documents equipment quality control according to protocols: recognizes and reports malfunctions or variations to supervisor as needed.
