Overview The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, patient care skills, and knowledge of medical imaging protocols. The MRI Technologist ensures that high-quality images are obtained while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process. Duties Perform MRI scans as per physician orders, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures. Conduct diagnostic evaluations to determine the appropriate imaging techniques based on patient needs. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort. Maintain aseptic technique throughout all imaging procedures to prevent infection. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and findings. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of MRI equipment, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise. Keep accurate records of patient information, imaging procedures performed, and any relevant observations. Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques. Schedule 3 days weekly 7am- 8:30pm, Thursday, Friday & Saturday Skills Proficient in diagnostic evaluation techniques to assess patient conditions effectively. Strong understanding of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to MRI and radiology practices. Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy to accurately identify structures in images. Expertise in medical imaging processes, particularly MRI technology. Solid understanding of physiology knowledge as it relates to imaging and patient care. Experience with CT scanning is beneficial but not mandatory. Knowledge of sonography principles can enhance the breadth of imaging capabilities. This position is essential for providing high-quality care and accurate diagnostic information that supports effective treatment plans for patients.
